Shaggy Loops beaded necklace and earrings in amber tones

A slinky necklace made with the Shaggy Loops chainmaille technique to match the toggle bracelet also in the shop. It's deliciously fluid to handle and feels just gorgeous to wear. You'll find it very tactile and won't stop fiddling with it.

It is made with around 80 individual silver plated jump rings, each of which has to be opened and closed by hand. Each external loose loop (there are a pair on every link) has a large Toho Japanese seed bead - the colourway is dark and light amber on this necklace. There are around 17 rings and 12 beads for every inch. 

The chainmaille beaded central feature is around 115mm (4½") wide and tapers with decreasing sized rings into a length of silver plated curb chain, which fastens at the back to a small silver plated smooth round toggle fastening, attached with a beaded wrapped loop.  The loop of the toggle is 9mm (0.35") in diameter and the bar is 13mm (½") long. 

The necklace is currently 440mm (17¼") long and when resting on your skin, spreads to about 12mm (½") wide in wear.   At this length it is slightly longer than a choker, resting around the collar bone.  If you'd like a different length, it can be adjusted.  Some of the photographs show it draped longer where the front curve would fall in a deeper V shape if it were worn longer.

Matching earrings and bracelet:

It comes with a matching pair of Shaggy Loops earrings featuring the same bead and ring combinations and they hang 33mm (1.3") overall from the top of the silver plated hand formed earwires.  These too could be made a different length if required.

There is a toggle fastening silver plated bracelet to match also available separately in the shop.  The set can be made with other colours of seed beads and either silver plated or gold plated.  See the additional photos for other colours done for commissions.
