Necklace and earring set with copper charms impressed with turquoise spirals
£72.00
Product Code: 22109f
Necklace and matching earring set with hand crafted copper clay charms, that are curved squares, impressed with spirals that have been infilled in turquoise and green patina colours. The necklace features a matching turquoise pressed glass bead charm that can be worn on either side of the pendant for different looks.
The feature charms on the pendant and earrings have been hand made from copper clay, impressed with a spiral texture, cut and hand shaped and later highly polished and antiqued to form the pattern. The spirals have been further highlighted by filling the pattern with turquoise and metallic green Gilders Paste.
The necklace features a single large curved square pendant that has been top drilled and hangs on a large hand made oval jump ring and also features a little matching turquoise pressed glass bead dangle. The bead can either be worn behind the charm secreted within the curved shape out of sight, leaving the front just showing the turquoise spirals, or flipped over the chain to be seen as added interest on the front.
The earrings each have a smaller curved square charm, hanging from long curved feature earwires with a co-ordinating spiral above the charm.
The earrings drop 48m (1.9") overall from the top of the feature oval earwires and hang 16mm (0.6") at their widest in wear. The pendant drops 28mm (1.1") overall from the chain and is 22mm (0.85") at its widest in wear. The turquoise pressed glass bead dangle is 8mm (0.3") in diameter.
The chain for the necklace will be made to order for you, up to 30" in length, so please specify what length you would like at the time of ordering.

If you would like either of the components separately, they could be listed individually at £38 GB Pounds each, please ask if you'd like me to separate the earrings and necklace.
What is copper clay / precious metal clay?
Copper clay is a clay like medium made from tiny particles of copper (other metals are available too), combined with an organic binder and made into a pliable clay or paste with water. After working with the clay-like medium to form the article, it is thoroughly dried to remove all of the water, the shape is then further refined and then fired at high temperature to both burn off the binders and to cause the copper particles to fuse together as solid metal. Whilst the medium makes it possible to achieve things not possible with other metal forms, it is still quite time-consuming and there are several stages to achieving a nice finish.
