Hammered silver and pearl necklace set

A hammered Sterling silver oval is suspended with fine wrapped silver wire, from a length of chain on each side and is adorned with long elegant dangles of silver and freshwater pearls.

The Sterling silver oval shape has been soldered and hammered for texture and the corners have been wrapped with fine Sterling silver wire, entrapping the chain of the necklace. The necklace of fine Sterling silver cable chain fastens with a bolt ring and tab and is 460mm (18") in length. It can be shortened if desired.

A section of wrapped wire along the bottom of the oval holds three freshwater pearl dangles. Each dangle is made from a hand formed Sterling silver ball pin, with a long elegant silver tube. The freshwater potato shaped pearls are a creamy white colour with a lovely glossy nacre and they are each around 6mm (¼") in diameter.

The oval is 35mm (1¼") wide and 16mm (0.6") tall. Each pearl drop hangs 27mm (>1") below the oval and the centre piece is therefore 43mm (1¾") tall overall.

Matching earrings:

The necklace comes with a matching pair of earrings, each featuring a pearl dangle the same as the necklace. The earrings drop 36mm (1.4") overall from the top of the hand formed earwires.

The set has been antiqued by oxidising the silver, then polishing it back, to give texture to the hammering and wire wrapping. This set is entirely hand crafted and all metal is Sterling silver.
