Antiqued copper spiral wrapped chalk turquoise necklace

A striking statement necklace in antiqued copper featuring a central section of chunky beads of chalk turquoise, spiral wrapped and completed with a length of antiqued copper cable chain.

I've spiral wrapped each of the beads in copper wire and the metal has been antiqued to co-ordinate with the brown tones of the matrix within the stones and to bring out the texture of the wire wrapping.    The beads are made from stablilised natural chalk turquoise, which I understand to be a composite bead from natural chalks associated with turquoise mining, but pressed together within a resin base and dyed. 

The central beaded section of the necklace features 7 of the large turquoise beads and measures 210mm (8¼") wide.  Each of the beads is 14mm (>½") in diameter and at present, the full chain, which fastens with a hand crafted hook and loop clasp, measures 530mm (21") overall - but I would suggest that fitting higher around the collarbone would be the most flattering for the design, so I've left the chain long enough to allow for it to be shortened to taste.
