Fine silver pendant featuring an appliqued daisy, adorned with a sparkling raindrop in the form of a clear cubic zirconium gemstone.  The pendant is my own pointed wave shape and the background is textured with one of my own texture plates created from a photograph, making this pendant truly unique to me.

The petals of the daisy, stem and leaf have been individually appliqued and the centre of the flower is formed from lots of individual balls of silver.  The very sparkly cubic zirconium gemstone has been set directly into the pendant on top of the flower like a twinkling raindrop.  Still photographs never do gemstones of that quality justice, the pendant needs to move and catch the light to show just how twinkly the gems are, often reflecting a rainbow of colours.

The pendant hangs on a hidden D shaped bail at the top of the pendant and the chain is a nice quality stainless steel snake chain.  I chose a stainless steel chain as I like how well the colour matches the antiqued silver, as it's very difficult to antique smooth silver snake chains and get the colour just right.

Matching earrings:

The pendant comes with a matching pair of earrings.  These are fat little marquise shapes with the same background texture and featuring 3 tiny balls of silver and a smaller matching CZ gemstone.  They hang from Sterling silver straight drop earwires.

Sizes:

The pendant is 32mm (1¼") overall in height and 19mm (¾") wide in wear.  The earrings drop 22mm (0.9") overall from the top of the earwires and are 7mm (>¼") wide in wear.  The stainless steel chain is supplied at 457mm (18") long and closes with a lobster clasp.  Unfortunately, the stainless chains are only available at 18" long, so I am unable to offer an alternative size in this instance.

What is metal clay?

Metal clay (now available in base metals like copper, bronze, iron, steel and brass and precious metals like silver and even gold) is a clay like medium made from tiny particles of metal, combined with an organic binder and made into a pliable clay or paste with water. After working with the clay-like medium to form the article, it is thoroughly dried to remove all of the water, the shape is further refined and then fired at very high temperature in a kiln to both burn off the binders and to cause the metal particles to fuse together as solid metal - this firing takes a full day to complete for base metals - less so for silver - at which time I tend to work with crossed fingers, hoping that the kiln gods are smiling on me that day and it fires successfully.   Not everything does.
