Twisted antiqued copper knot necklace

Having twisted some wire to repair a household object, I was intrigued with the results and soon goot hooked on twisting wire for jewellery pieces. I played with various combinations of weights of wire and this necklace is made from 2 lengths of the same gauge.

After twisting the wire lengths together I 'tied' it into this knot style necklace, which was hammered and then I antiqued it heavily to match the chain I'd chosen for it. The antiquing highlights the texture of the twists in the metal.

The copper knot is joined into the centre of its own necklace chain of antiqued copper which fastens with my own hand crafted hook and loop fastenings. At present the necklace is 545mm (21½") long, which is rather longer than I think it would look best worn, but happened to be the cut length of chain I picked up at the end of a batch. I've left it at the longer length, but would suggest that it would look nicest worn at collar bone length and therefore somewhat shorter than it is. The knot section in the middle is 51mm (2") wide and 19mm (¾") deep.
