Antiqued copper etched daisy pendant

Antiqued copper pendant, etched with a garden daisy design, created from one of my own photographs hanging from a long chunky belcher chain.

This daisy design features on another pendant in the shop, but this was the first one I made, before I'd fully perfected the technique for creating the resist of the design for etching.  Consequently, the etching is a little rustic and doesn't have the clean background, pristine edges and crisp detail I have later achieved with my etching.  But I always rather liked this rougher version, so decided to make it available anyway, with the different quality being reflected in the price.

The pendant has been made from copper sheet and etched with an electrostatic salt water technique using a design I created by digitally manipulating one of my own photographs to create a mask resist for the etching.

Once etched, it has been extensively shaped and polished by hand to make it comfortable to the touch (the etching initially leaves quite sharp edges) and oxidised and polished back to enhance the detail of the etched daisy design. The pendant hangs from a row of 4 chunky hand sawn jumprings on a necklace of antiqued copper rollo/belcher chain. 

For this particular pendant, I've decided to team it with a longer and chunkier chain, which fastens with my own hand crafted hook and loop clasp and is currently 740mm (29") long, but can be shortened on request.  The pendant itself is 35mm (1.35") wide and it drops 50mm (<2") overall from the chain.
