Antiqued copper curly textured heart pendant necklace

Antiqued copper necklace featuring a hand crafted curly heart pendant, textured with random linear marks. The sweet delicate little pendant hangs on fine antiqued copper cable chain.

I have cut the pendant from copper precious metal clay using my own custom heart shaped cutter, imprinting it with overlapping zig-zag lines and polishing and antiquing it to bring out the textures.

The pendant hangs 21mm (0.85") overall from the antiqued copper cable chain and hangs 22mm (0.85") at its widest. The pendant hangs from the chain from my own hand crafted oval jump ring. The chain will be made to order for you, up to a length of 600mm (24"), so please specify your requirements during checkout.

Please note the size of the pendant, which is rather delicate, but shows much larger than life size in the photographs.


What is copper clay / precious metal clay?

Copper clay is a clay like medium made from tiny particles of copper (other metals are available too), combined with an organic binder and made into a pliable clay or paste with water. After working with the clay-like medium to form the article, it is thoroughly dried to remove all of the water, the shape is then further refined and then fired at high temperature to both burn off the binders and to cause the copper particles to fuse together as solid metal. Whilst the medium makes it possible to achieve things not possible with other metal forms, it is still quite time-consuming and there are several stages to achieving a nice finish.
