Antiqued copper and turquoise hammered loop earrings

Antiqued copper and turquoise magnesite hammered teardrop loop earrings.  The core of these earrings are a pair of inverted and hammered copper teardrop shaped loops, wire wrapped in shape and with a single bead of turquoise magnesite on a hammered pin.

The main structure of the earrings has been made from a single piece of cold-forged copper from the rounded hammered pin through the bead and round the loop, anchored together with a wrap of a finer gauge of wire.  The loop has been hammered initially for shape, then to add texture and facets that catch the light.

The turquoise bead is stabilised and dyed turquoise magnesite, which is a natural mineral that is predominantly clear or chalky looking in nature, but takes dye well to mimic the appearance of more expensive gemstones.

The earrings hang 56mm (2.2") overall from the top of the jumbo sized classic shaped earwires and are 13mm (½") at their widest.  All cut ends have been filed smooth and polished for your comfort and the earrings antiqued to bring out the warm tones of the copper and enhance the textures.
