Green jade and antiqued copper teardrop pendant

This teardrop shaped pendant in antiqued copper features a glossy dark green and black teardrop (often called 'pear') shaped stone of Chinese green jade, surrounded by a hammered and polished antiqued copper frame, wrapped with a single piece co-ordinating bail, from which the stone dangles.

The lovely dark green and black marbled teardrop shaped stone of Chinese green jade was the starting point for this pendant with the copper frame being hand formed to mirror the shape of the stone. The frame was soldered, hammered and polished and wrapped with my own signature bail, the lip of which forms a matching teardrop loop, from which the jade teardrop hangs, from my own large ball copper headpin.

All of the metal pieces have been hand shaped and polished and all cut ends filed smooth for comfort and to prevent snagging. The pendant was antiqued to bring out the texture of the wrapped elements and it hangs 43mm (1.7") overall from the antiqued copper chain. The pendant is 27mm (1.1") at its widest.

It hangs on an antiqued copper cable chain which closes with a hand crafted hook and loop fastening. The chain will be made up to order, so please let me know what size you would like it, up to 760mm (30").
